A Rogue Librarian's Reading List

{March 21, 2011}   Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd

Plot: A collection of stories about geek culture for nerds of every kind.

Whether you’re a D&D geek, a trivia geek, a sci-fi geek, a LARPER, a theater geek… or any other kind of nerd, there is a story for you in this lovely collection, accompanied by hilarious comics by (Canadian!) Bryan Lee O’Malley and Hope Larson. They are written by some of the greatest and geekiest authors on the YA market including though not limited to Holly Black, John Green, David Leviathan, Garth Nix, Libba Bray, Cassandra Clare and Scott Westerfeld.

Like any collection of short stories, some are better than others. Kelly Link’s story Secret Identity just seemed to drag on and I finished it mainly out of a sense of completion. But the other stories are good enough to make up for it.

There’s a story about a Jedi and a Klingon hooking up at a convention. Do I really need to sell anyone on this idea?
