A Rogue Librarian's Reading List

{December 22, 2010}   Waiting on Wednesday: Across the Universe

Title: Across the Universe

Author: Beth Revis

Publisher: Razorbill (Penguin)

Release date: January 11, 2011

Plot: Seventeen-year-old Amy and her parents are put into cold sleep aboard the spaceship Godspeed. They are supposed to wake up in 300 years on a new planet. Only Amy wakes up 50 years early. As she explores the world of the ship, she begins to suspect that her awakening may not have been an accident. Someone is trying to kill her. And if she can’t find out who, her parents may be next.

Why I’m waiting: Since finishing Suzanne Collin’s Hunger Games series, I’ve been waiting for a good distopian science fiction series. This one looks promising, filled with mystery and romance and taking place in a new stratified society on a space ship.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine. I plan to participate for the next year at least (because my to read pile really needs to be longer ;P). If you’d like to join in, grab a graphic, write a post and leave a link on her site.
