A Rogue Librarian's Reading List

{April 20, 2010}   Bédélys

Last night, April 19th, was the award ceremony for the 11th annual Bédélys awards sponsored by Promo 9e art. The award celebrates French language comics, throughout the world, but particularly in Québec. I was pleased to be able to attend and support our wonderful artists and writers.

So without further ado, the winners are:

Prix Bédélys d’Or: Paul à Québec by Michel Rabagliati

Prix Bédélys Québec: Paul à Québec by Michel Rabagliati

(He seemed quite overwhelmed to have won two of the four prizes but he truly deserved it; he’s a talented artist and writer.)

Honorable mention for the Bédélys Québec: Tuer Vélasquez by Philippe Girard

Prix Bédélys Jeunesse: Pico Bogue T.3 by Dominique Roques and Alexis Dormal

(Somehow I do not have this in my children’s section but don’t worry that will be rectified shortly).

Prix Bédélys Fanzine: Rapport de stage by Laurence Lemieux and Pascal Girard

Congratulations to all the winners!
